It was because dogs have what's called "Yellow-Blue Dichromatic Vision" which is a long winded way of saying they only see blue and green, those other two buttons would blend in while the blue button stands out so it's his go to. It's also why you should buy your dog blue toys so they dont lose it in the grass due to the color blending.

he didnt want a name completely off of his name, he didnt want a name close to identical to his name, he wanted a name that was just right
